MOCHION

(moh-chee-on)

A systematic crypto trading system,
built and documented in the open.

One person, four Python services, two exchanges — and a little mochi who narrates the whole thing. This is the build log of a real trading machine, drawn like it's 1934.

The pipeline is running.

An engineering project, not a fund. Nothing on this site is a solicitation or investment advice. It documents a personal system, honestly — including when it breaks.

What Mochion is

A personal, systematic crypto trading operation: a pipeline of Python services that run and monitor strategies on perpetual futures across Bybit and Hyperliquid, with institutional-style risk management and a paper trail for everything.

The mascot is soft. The process is not.

How the machine fits together

Portfolio analytics A monitoring dashboard with a statistical kill-switch engine: Monte-Carlo envelopes and distribution tests that grade each strategy STABLE, UNLUCKY, DRIFTING, or BROKEN — so retiring an edge is a measurement, not a mood.
Position manager FastAPI middleware between signals and exchanges: deduplication, retries with backoff, market and limit entry, a reconcile worker, and alerts when reality and the book disagree.
Carry signal A funding-rate signal service for Hyperliquid cash-and-carry — approve-to-fire only; no trade happens without a human pressing the button.
Backtester Offline research and tuning for the carry rule — walk-forward, Deflated Sharpe, vol-targeted sizing. The boring part that keeps the rest honest.

When it breaks, you'll read about it

Most trading pages show you the wins. This one documents the failures on purpose: flaky tests, drift between docs and code, strategies that stop working and get retired by the numbers. The honest version is the interesting version.

Fresh failures ship to the build log.

Panel 3 · Weather happens

Risk is the product

Volatility-targeted sizing, statistical kill-switches, regime attribution, and reconciliation between what the system thinks and what the exchange says. The machine is built to survive weather, not to predict sunshine.

The Tape

Live telemetry · updated hourly once the pipeline ships
Live system telemetry panel — under construction
How to read this This panel will show the live system's own numbers — equity curve, drawdown, uptime — exported straight from the machine every hour, warts and all. It is a work log, not a résumé: early history is a small sample and says little. Past performance isn't a promise of anything.
Panel 4 · Onward

The story continues

Mochion ships in public: build notes, telemetry, and the occasional milestone. Where it's headed next lives on the roadmap.
